Paqua Park is an inflatable water park situated on Lake Pleasant in Arizona, operating seasonally from late March to early October. The giant obstacle course is a popular destination for kids, families, and party groups in the summer months – so popular that almost every session sold out this year. Lindsey Wilkins, Owner of Paqua Park, shares her journey of discovering ROLLER and how it has become an integral part of the venue’s success.

Lindsey's introduction to ROLLER came through her network of fellow water park owners around the time she opened the park. "I happened to be on the phone with one of them, and he said, 'I’m switching everything to ROLLER. You can shop around if you want but don’t bother, just go with ROLLER.' So I took his word for it and ran with it," Lindsey recalls. From day one, ROLLER proved to be a great fit for Paqua Park. “From the get-go, I knew it would be a good solution for us. Efficient venue management  

Paqua Park relies on ROLLER for all its operations, including online sales, in-venue purchases, payments, and more. Keeping the business running smoothly is absolutely critical because they’re operating at capacity almost every day, putting 120-150 people through the course every hour. “ROLLER does a fantastic job and keeps everything moving smoothly and efficiently,” notes Lindsey.

Processing payments with ROLLER has also been a big time-saver, as staff don’t need to spend time manually taking payments. Paqua Park uses payment links to streamline phone bookings, giving guests the flexibility to pay online using their preferred payment method. “Rather than sitting on the phone collecting all the information, staff can tell the guest that their reservation is not confirmed until you click this link and make the payment,” says Lindsey.

Two-minute check-in 

Waivers are non-negotiable for Paqua Park, providing them with essential liability protection. “We have to ensure that before anyone gets on the park, they’ve got a liability waiver completed,” comments Lindsey. ROLLER's digital waivers help staff ensure that every guest has signed a waiver without requiring manual paperwork. “The ability to have waivers at your fingertips and not have an accumulation of paper is huge," says Lindsey.

Paqua Park sells a set amount of tickets online and leaves a portion available for walk-ins, so some guests sign a waiver online, and some sign in person. ROLLER seamlessly tracks waivers for online and walk-in guests, ensuring that no one accidentally slips through without signing one. Walk-ins can sign an online waiver via ROLLER’s self-serve kiosks, freeing staff to handle sales and other guest inquiries. For online bookings, especially groups and parties, Lindsey encourages everyone to arrive at the park with a signed waiver. “We reiterate that there’s an online waiver, and it will save you a ton of time if you can get it done before you come,” she comments. As a result, Paqua Park can process more guests in less time and provide a more streamlined guest experience.  “We can have a group of 10 checked in in less than two minutes,” notes Lindsey. 

Five-minute staff training

ROLLER's user-friendly interface helps onboard new staff members in a matter of minutes. All of Lindsey’s 30 staff members rotate between lifeguard duties at the park and handling bookings in the office, so having an easy-to-use system is a must. Lindsey explains that she sometimes has to bring in new staff at the last minute, but with ROLLER, she doesn’t need to invest hours helping them learn the ropes. “There have been times where I've been short-staffed, and I have to call up the son or daughter of a friend and ask them to come and work for the day. In five minutes, I can have them checking people in because ROLLER is intuitive enough to do that.”

Looking ahead, Lindsey envisions further expansion with the support of ROLLER – she plans to open additional water parks in the coming years. "There are some things in the works that will ultimately have us at multiple lakes within the state within the next few years," she says.
