Operating on a system that will grow and expand with business.

When Jason set out to launch Drone Rush, there was no proven playbook to follow. His idea was entirely new: a drone arcade inspired by mini golf, built to make drone flying fun, accessible, and memorable for everyone.

Jason committed to building a venue from scratch, even though he had a limited timeline for opening and no existing cash flow. With such tight deadlines, every decision carried weight, specially the decision around venue management software.

The challenge: launching something new under real pressure

As a first-time operator, Jason needed a system that could handle online bookings, payments, and daily operations without slowing him down. He wanted tools that worked, support he could rely on, and a setup process that respected his timeline.

After seeing ROLLER in action at a successful local venue, he knew it was a strong option.

Jason initially chose a platform that, on paper, appeared similar to ROLLER. In practice, it lacked the level of support operators need when opening a new venue. As opening day approached, cracks started to show. Implementation stalled, setup timelines slipped, and communication stopped.

“I was told it would take 24 hours to set up,” Jason explains. “Two weeks later, nothing had been done.”

With just three weeks left before opening, Jason faced a real risk: delay the launch, or open without a working system. “I have a rule in business,” he says. “I do not chase people I am paying.”

It was time to make a change.

The solution: coming back to ROLLER when it mattered most

Jason made the switch to ROLLER.

“The contract was signed within half an hour,” Jason says.

From there, implementation moved quickly. Jason was paired with a dedicated onboarding specialist who understood his business, his timeline, and his priorities.

“We probably spent four hours on the phone going through everything,” he says. “That one-on-one support, especially under time pressure, was priceless.”

Within weeks, Drone Rush was fully set up with ROLLER and opened on time.

The results: support and flexibility to grow

Today, Drone Rush runs on ROLLER, with Jason intentionally keeping things simple as the business grows.

“I am just using the basics right now,” he explains. “But it gets me through today, and I know the platform will scale with me.”

What stands out most is the support Jason has received from day one.

"We have had weekend chats and phone calls, and it is always same-day responses,” Jason says. “You are not dealing with a call center. You are dealing with people who know your business."

For Jason, the value of ROLLER became clearest when the pressure was on.

“You do not know how much support matters until you actually need it,” he says. “Now that I have used it, I would not go back to another platform.”

Advice for first-time venue owners

Jason knows many new operators face the same decision he did. Balancing cost with capability, especially when budgets are tight and timelines are real.

“Having the right system and the right people behind you is worth it,” he says.

For venues launching something new, especially under tight timelines, Jason’s advice is simple:

“Choose the platform that will show up when it counts.”
