We just got back from three days at Sk8 Expo 2026, hosted by the Roller Skating Association at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida. If you were there, you already know, the skating community showed up in the way only it can: warm, generous, and always ready to talk shop over a frozen drink.
A great mix of familiar faces and new ones
One of the things we love most about Sk8 Expo is the balance of the room. This year was no exception: plenty of catch-ups with longtime ROLLER customers, and just as many first conversations with rink operators we hadn't met before.
Sessions that stood out
Frank Kitchen's "Live F.R.E.S.H. Culture in Action" keynote set the tone for the week and was packed with practical ideas for building stronger team cultures.
Scott Salter's two sessions were another highlight. Between "Big Results, Small Budget: 30 Marketing Ideas for Your Rink" and "30 AI Tips in 30 Minutes," he covered a huge amount of ground, from email marketing to waivers to how AI can quietly become your newest team member. Both sessions were full of ideas operators could take home and put to work right away.
An evening with Workforce
Another highlight of the trip was the dinner we co-hosted with our partner Workforce. It was a relaxed setting to trade ideas with operators, and a good reminder of what's possible when technology partners come together for the industry.
Looking ahead
Sk8 Expo is one of those events that reminds us why we love working in this industry. Big thanks to the RSA for another wonderful edition, to everyone who stopped by to say hi, and to the operators who took the time to walk us through what they're building. See you next year!
