Stuntwerk began in 2012 as a single bouldering gym in Cologne, founded by Florian (Flo) Schiffer. Driven by a passion for climbing and a sharp eye for market opportunity, Flo grew the business into one of Germany's leading multi-venue bouldering operators. Stuntwerk now has 8 locations open and a 9th on the way.

The challenge: disconnected systems and manual workarounds

Before ROLLER, Stuntwerk relied on Boulderado — an on-premise, industry-specific solution — alongside a patchwork of separate tools for online bookings, PayPal payments, and membership management. Data was scattered across different systems, staff reconciled everything manually in spreadsheets, and there was no clear picture of the business across venues. During peak hours, check-in queues often stretched into the street.

As Stuntwerk scaled to 4 venues, it became clear the existing setup couldn't grow with them. They needed a cloud-based, unified platform that they could rely on for the next decade.

"We didn't want to grow with a not-up-to-date solution and then have to change with multi-venues. We wanted to change as fast as possible and then grow with the solution we want to stick with for the next… I hope, decades."
Flo Schiffer
CEO, Stuntwerk

The solution: ROLLER and a trusted partner network

Stuntwerk discovered ROLLER through a trusted contact, and a first demonstration confirmed the platform met their requirements. But the real differentiator in their implementation journey was aifinity, a ROLLER partner with deep roots in the German market and a long-standing relationship with the Stuntwerk team.

"If someone asks me, I would always advise working with aifinity in the implementation process,” Flo says. “aifinity is the ultimate bridge to the German market, perfectly completing what ROLLER brings to the table."

aifinity handled far more than just setup. They identified gaps early (including the need for an automated check-in solution) and built their solution, NiceCheckIn, directly on ROLLER's open API. NiceCheckIn, an automated check-in system that supports QR code, barcode, and RFID access across multiple venues, is now a fully commercialized solution available to other ROLLER customers globally.

The results: measurable impact across revenue, operations, and guest experience

Online bookings grew from 20% to 50% of total revenue:

ROLLER's unified, intuitive booking experience replaced fragmented platforms and PayPal workarounds. As a result, Stuntwerk online revenue grew from 20% to nearly 50% of total sales.

Party package revenue increased by ~30%

By moving birthday party bookings online and restructuring packages into three distinct tiers, Stuntwerk made it easier for guests to self-select and spend more — with clearer options and more time to consider their choices.

Admin costs reduced by 20%

In the 6 months following full implementation, admin staffing costs dropped by approximately 20% as automated processes and consolidated workflows replaced manual data entry.

40% of check-ins are now automated

Using aifinity's NiceCheckIn integrated with ROLLER, Stuntwerk has automated the check-in at its Cologne venue and has since closed one of two staffed entrances entirely. The team is now extending unstaffed opening hours across the network.

A scalable foundation for the next chapter

With ROLLER as the operational backbone and aifinity as a long-term partner, Stuntwerk is now positioned to open new venues without rebuilding its infrastructure from the ground up. ROLLER's open API also powers Microsoft Power BI reporting, giving Flo and his team the data visibility to make smarter decisions as they scale.

"Now we can scale up without rearranging the base — which for me is ROLLER as a software. It's the connecting piece between everything we do every day."
